Homemade Daily Facial Moisturizer using Essential Oils*
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp almond oil
- 2 Tbsp vegetable glycerin (purchase at a health food store, or online)
- 1 1/2 tsp grated beeswax
- 1 Tbsp spring water or distilled water
- 1 Vitamin E capsule
- 30 drops doTERRA essential oil of your choice (use geranium or melaleuca for a clearer complexion)
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan over the stove, combine the first three ingredients. Warm over low heat, stirring occasionally until wax is melted.
2. In a separate pan, warm the water over low heat.
3. Remove both pans from heat and cool until the oil and wax thickens a little, but is still a liquid.
4. Pour the warm water into the wax/oil mixture while stirring rapidly with a wire whisk. Whisk rapidly for 3-4 minutes. The mixture will turn a pale yellow color.
5. Open the vitamin E capsule and squeeze into the cream. Throw away the shell of the capsule.
6. Add the essential oil, and whisk for 4-5 more minutes. Cream will become thick and shiny.
7. Put cream in a glass storage jar with a lid, such as a small mason jar. Let it set for an hour before using it.
8. The cream will be good for 3-6 months in the refrigerator, or 1 month at room temperature.
